Rosemary Laoulach

Counsellor

Life can be challenging for all of us sometimes. Many have observed that anxiety and depression are on the increase. How we find meaning in our difficulties and resilience to face our challenges isn't always easy.
Reaching out for the support of others is, at times, a necessary and wise step.

...man's main concern is not to gain pleasure or to avoid pain but
rather to see a meaning in his life...

- Victor Frankl -

The task of counseling is to give people an opportunity to explore, discover and clarify ways of living more satisfyingly and resourcefully.
- John McLeod -

Support I Can Provide You With

Difficulties have the potential to help us grow as we learn new insights and develop resilience. Life's challenges hold seeds for personal growth. We can learn to become more discerning and apply practical wisdom to flourish.

As a counselor, I respect that each person is unique and complex. All people have the potential to make positive changes and flourish. I help facilitate the changes that people choose to make.

I provide a supportive and empathic space for you to explore your emotions and thoughts. I facilitate a supportive environment where you gain access to information, become more self-aware, identify your strengths, and develop the resources to feel empowered and take control of your life.

I will listen to your feelings without judgment, helping you understand and work with your feelings. I also assist you in exploring:

  • Any negative thinking patterns that may be impacting your behaviour and life in general
  • Ways of reframing your interpretations of challenging events.
  • Constructive ways of dealing with personal conflicts.
  • Potential meanings out of the problems experienced.
  • Ways of helping you find greater personal freedom.

I use various techniques in my work depending on each person's needs. My approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.

My Approaches

I welcome you to a process of self–discovery, support and personal growth.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Existential Therapy
  • Spiritual Counselling (if requested)
  • Narrative Therapy
